I was mentioned Parktown Residence reviews by one person, with comments ranging from off walls faces to rain-skittish life. Some people sing its praises, while for others… well, somewhat damp ones at any rate. Just imagine a crowded cafe, where each face has a story scribbling on the other side of coffee sauce.
Many residents find this genuine warmth from the staff a great experience–just like meeting a roomful of familiar old acquaintances. One resident quipped, It’s as if I were their visitor regular! For some, these maintaining the friend-ships can be essential in making a place feel like home.
But not all is milk and honey. Some say that the maintenance servicemen strike incredibly long periods of letting nature take its course. However long a dripping tap choruses through this season’s gloom, monitored by your persisnent percussionist from elsewhere in the walk of music life. Waiting for repairs is, as one resident put it with a soupçon of pathos, Like watching grass grow. Not exactly what you want when looking for a speedy cure!
Parktown’s key advantage is its location. With stores and eateries just a step outside the door, everything is within stone’s throw distance. I remember hearing somebody say in the elevator lobby, “I pick up my coffee so fast it is still warm by the time I get home!” Now that is real convenience.
Naturally, no place is without disadvantages. The noise level may be a worry for some, while walls have ears that border on the poorly bred mare. At times you feel like the neighbour is right in your living room. While one person might find such restive periods disturbing, others just take it in stride.
As for those blooming flower beds in the plaza? They would provide competition for any garden exhibition–although some are loathe to admit it. Small potatoes, perhaps, but sometimes it’s the small matters that really stick in the craw.
At Parktown, a number of factors coexist harmoniously. What you like and hate about the place is down to something altogether different: whether it’s the warmth and shared responsibilities of your neighbours, ease just round corner from some necessities or boulders strewn in path along way. In end, it boils down to your own personal karma.
